What is HALO Laser treatment?

Traditional lasers can only penetrate a few millimeters below the surface of your skin. HALO is an innovative fractional laser that uses ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to go under the skin to provide the best results. Dr. Stark is able to provide a detailed laser treatment plan for you because the dual wavelengths offer more options to tailor a treatment plan that will work with your skin type. The dual wavelength lasers offer the following:

Non-ablative

  • Works deep under your skin
  • Stimulates new collagen production
  • Improves the texture and tone of your skin

Ablative

  • Removes the outer layer of your skin
  • Improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Promotes collagen production and skin cell regeneration

Traditional lasers can only resurface about five percent of your skin. The HALO Laser can resurface 25 to 30 percent more areas of your skin than compared to other lasers because of its dual wavelength lasers.

What Does HALO Laser
Skin Treatment Do?

Whether you seek correction for one skin concern or more, HALO Laser Treatment has you covered. Because it uses dual wavelengths, it targets both superficial layers of skin, causing skin cell rejuvenation and deeper layers under the skin, encouraging new collagen and elastin production.

This technology allows us to treat several concerns with one type of treatment, giving you optimal results with less time investment, including:

  • Acne and other small scars
  • Large Pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Skin Texture
  • Spider veins
  • Hyperpigmentation

HALO Laser Benefits

HALO Laser treatments are non-surgical and minimally invasive, and give long-lasting results without weeks of recovery. HALO uses technology that allows your aesthetic specialist to target specific zones, providing you with no more or less than the treatment needed to correct the issues that you want. The treatment is highly customizable; not only can we address several concerns within a treatment, but HALO laser technology can be used on several areas of your body, such as your face, arms, legs, and chest. Some benefits of HALO Laser treatments are:

  • Repairs sun damage
  • Eliminates fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces the appearance of large pores
  • Diminishes acne or other scars
  • Evens out skin tone, discoloration disappears
  • Smoother skin with less texture
  • A younger, more healthy glow

Am I a good candidate for HALO Laser treatment?

Unlike other laser treatments, the HALO Laser can be used on all skin types and even on delicate parts of the face. HALO Laser treatment can be used on the following places on your body:

  • Legs
  • Arms
  • Neck
  • Hands
  • Chest or Decolletage area

The following skin conditions and blemishes are treated by the HALO Laser:

  • Dark Spots
  • Acne Scars
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Rough and bumpy skin

The HALO Laser features a unique motion-tracking technology used to measure the areas you need treated. Even unseen skin imperfections are targeted deep within your skin’s layers to bring out glowing and radiant skin.

HALO Laser Procedure

Prior to your laser treatment, you will be given a numbing cream, which takes 30 minutes for the topical anesthetic to dry before your treatment can begin. During your session you may also use ProNox for comfort.

Your entire HALO Laser session will take about one hour, depending on the number of areas needing treatment, and the intensity of your laser session. Your skin is tracked section by section as the HALO device glides over your skin. The HALO system will beep to notify your aesthetic specialist your treatment is complete.

HALO Laser
Recovery

Your skin may feel slightly sensitive and like a sunburn. After the procedure you will be given a post procedure regimen to follow. Recovery time depends on the session intensity. This can vary from 4-7 days. Most patients are able to apply make-up after the third day and resume daily activities. After seven days you will experience the HALO Glow.

HALO Laser Results

Within five to seven days of treatment, you will start to see an improvement and achieve a healthy glow as your skin repairs itself. Over the next few months, as new production of collagen and elastin increases and the targeted melanin evens out, you will find rejuvenated, smoother skin. Discoloration will lessen, and acne scars, enlarged pores and fine lines will disappear.

Your HALO Laser results can last 2 or more years with proper care. Your aesthetic team will provide you with an aftercare plan, however, here are some examples of how to keep your new look fresh for years to come.

  • In the first week after treatment, keep to a gentle cleanser and pat your skin dry. Be careful to not exfoliate or aggravate your skin as it heals to prevent scarring.
  • Practice good sun protection, always. Sun damage can greatly shorten the lifespan of your results. Avoid direct sunlight when possible, use a brimmed hat and sun protection clothing when you cannot, and always use a sunscreen with no less than SPF 30.
  • Utilize a quality anti-aging skin-care regimen to take care of your new skin

HALO Laser FAQs

Will it hurt?

Many patients say they hear popping and snapping sounds, but overall the treatment is not uncomfortable. After the procedure most people feel like they experience a sunburn on their face. This sensation lasts about an hour. This is minimized with a cool mask right after your procedure at StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center.

What are the risks?

Risks using the HALO Laser are rare. Some after effects from your treatment include redness and swelling for a couple of days.

How long do HALO laser results last?

You can expect your HALO Laser treatment results to be long-lasting. Our patients find that their optimal results last one to two years after treatment is completed. You can prolong your results by limiting sun exposure, including regularly using sunscreen and avoiding direct sunlight whenever possible. We also recommend using an anti-aging skin-care regimen.

Is HALO laser skin treatment safe?

HALO Laser treatments have quickly become a popular option worldwide for patients seeking a renewed look. Not only for the high percentage of satisfaction in results but because it is a non-invasive treatment with no downtime and little to no risk. HALO Laser is a safe option for adults of all ages and skin types.

Is HALO laser skin treatment painful?

Any chance of discomfort during treatment can be minimized using a topical numbing cream 30 minutes before your aesthetic specialist begins, as well as cooling technology within the equipment, ensuring that you are comfortable as the laser is applied to your treatment area. Patients do often report feeling the sensation of a sunburn after laser skin treatments; however, it resolves on its own quickly.

How much does HALO Laser treatment cost?

Initially, HALO treatments are more expensive than traditional laser sessions, but keep in mind, it would take three to four laser treatments with what one HALO treatment can accomplish. Additionally, the HALO results last longer, making HALO a more affordable option.

Does my insurance cover it?

HALO treatments are cosmetic procedures. Medical insurance typically does not cover it. You can check with your medical provider, but StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center offers financing and payment options.

Can HALO laser treatment tighten my skin?

HALO Laser treatments are generally used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, and skin discoloration and are not indicated for skin tightening. However, many patients do report that as their skin heals and rejuvenates, they notice some renewed elasticity in their skin, giving them a slight appearance of a lift.

How much does HALO laser skin resurfacing cost?

Your customized HALO Laser treatment plan can vary in cost for many reasons, including the extent of treatment needed and if you will be doing any add-on treatments along with your laser procedure. As a result, HALO Laser treatments can initially be more expensive than other options. Still, not needing as many repeat treatments and the increased longevity of your results can be an invaluable investment in yourself. We will be happy to discuss financing and payment options at your consultation.
