StarkMD Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center provides transformative skin changes using the most advanced laser technology in the world, the Sciton Laser system. Our Philadelphia Sciton MOXI™ laser is a revolutionary treatment that prevents and reverses red or brown pigmentation on the face, neck, chest, abdomen, arms, and hands. Read on to learn more about this powerful new technology and how to give your skincare routine some MOXI™.
Sciton MOXI™ is an ultra-gentle, non-ablative fractional laser treatment. It targets and destroys unwanted pigment on the face and body. The precise delivery tip creates painless micro-injuries in the uppermost layer of skin. This instigates a natural repair process within the epidermis, improving skin clarity and texture for an ageless, even-toned glow.
Sciton MOXI™ combats premature skin aging concerns such as sun spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation. Unlike aggressive laser treatments, it effectively revitalizes the skin without a lengthy downtime.
The treatment takes less than 30 minutes on average. It is a fast, convenient, and highly effective way to secure an even complexion and remain youthful.
With three energy settings for a customized experience, MOXI™ is suitable for all skin types and tones. It is ideal for preventative aging and can reverse mild sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and age spots.
It also works wonders for maintaining a youthful complexion after more aggressive laser treatments have cleared away your skin concerns. Severe photo damage or advanced signs of aging may necessitate the use of other lasers. During your consultation at StarkMD, our skincare experts will assess your skin and your health history to make sure MOXI™ is right for you.
Sciton MOXI™ is a virtually painless experience. Most patients do not require numbing cream, although it is available upon request. After donning safety glasses, your StarkMD aesthetician will roll the delivery tip over your skin, working in small sections to ensure they don’t miss a spot. You may feel prickly heat or snapping as MOXI™ passes over your skin. The procedure takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the size and number of treated area(s). Following your treatment, you are free to resume your normal routine.
A single MOXI™ session improves skin quality and appearance, although repeat treatments deliver the best results. Wearing daily sunscreen is critical for preventing new or recurring solar damage. Once your recovery is complete, you will notice smoother, clearer, and more evenly toned skin in the treatment area.
At StarkMD Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center in Mainline, our aestheticians are masters at preventing and correcting age-related concerns such as sun damage and pigmentation issues. Led by double board-certified and RealSelf verified plastic surgeon Dr. Ran Stark, StarkMD only offers proven and effective treatment options that deliver fantastic results for their patients. With powerful technology in the hands of StarkMD’s trained clinicians, you can make your dream skin a reality.
MOXI™ typically does not interfere with your daily activities. You may notice some skin peeling for the first three to five days after treatment as your body gets rid of old, damaged skin to allow your new, healthy skin to emerge.
While you only need one session of MOXI™ to generate noticeable results, your initial treatment plan will most likely include three to four sessions, each one spaced about a month apart. Following this series of treatments, you will see long-lasting results and beautiful skin.
Typically, patients who undergo a full series of treatments can go for up to a year before needing another treatment. MOXI™ delivers powerful results, but it does not stop the skin from aging, so over time, your skin will continue to collect signs of physical aging. Maintenance treatments over the years will help reduce these signs of aging and give you clearer, healthier skin.
During your consultation, we will go over your recovery plan in detail, including what makeup to wear after your treatment. As a rule, it is important to allow your skin to heal following laser treatment, and wearing makeup can increase the risk of infection and other complications. However, our aesthetic providers will be able to advise you on your recovery plan details (including makeup) during your consultation.
Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. Ran Stark brings decades of experience and training to each consultation. When you meet with Dr. Stark, he takes the time to give you information and options, so you can have confidence in your decision to move forward with the best procedure for you. Confidence. Personalized care. Impeccable results. That’s the Stark Difference. Discover that difference yourself by scheduling a consultation with Dr. Stark today.
