Stark Plastic Surgery

Sculptra is a revolutionary injectable that triggers long-term skin regeneration. Rather than being a hyaluronic acid filler, Sculptra is made with a biodegradable, biocompatible substance called poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA). PLLA has been used to create dissolvable sutures for years and will be absorbed slowly by your body over time.

The micro-particles of PLLA in Sculptra are suspended in an injectable gel. You will experience an immediate smoothing effect on wrinkles and lines with an added benefit: The micro-particles of PLLA trigger your skin to produce natural collagen in higher quantities. The microbeads are absorbed, and the natural collagen remains, leaving you with firmer, more youthful skin.

Is Sculptra right for me?

Sculptra can produce a remarkable improvement in skin texture, firmness, and resilience as your skin produces higher quantities of natural collagen, rebuilding your skin from within. The product is FDA-approved, and offers the following benefits:

  • Gradual skin regeneration
  • Creates a very natural result
  • Can smooth laugh lines, marionette lines, and chin creases and lines
  • Requires no allergy testing
  • Recovery time is minimal

Where can Sculptra be injected?

Sculptra can be injected in various areas of the face or body. It can be used to increase buttocks volume and enhance shape, similar to the results of a butt lift with natural fat transfer, but with shorter recovery time.

For facial enhancement, Sculptra can be used to smooth:

  • Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
  • Marionette lines (extending from sides of the mouth to chin)
  • Chin creases and wrinkles
  • Cheeks

What are Sculptra injections like to experience?

Sculptra is injected deeply into the dermis, the layer of skin in which the collagen strands create structure. Your skin will be numbed with a topical cream before your injections, which should not be uncomfortable to experience, and will take only minutes to complete. You may require several treatments to achieve the optimal level of skin renewal.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

We at StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center hope this post finds all of our patients safe and healthy. Due to the current COVID-19 situation starting Monday, March 16th, we will limit appointments to those that are necessary only (lacerations or emergencies, post-operative patients needing follow up, etc.). We are still open--feel free to call for questions or to schedule future appointments. Although a difficult decision, we feel this is an important one for the good of our community, our patients and their families. If you are currently scheduled to come in to the office in the next 2 weeks, the office staff will be in touch with you regarding the status of your appointment. For new consultations scheduled in the coming weeks or those of you who wish to schedule in the near future, we are offering video consultations via Skype or FaceTime to get your process started until we see you pre-operatively. Otherwise, you may reschedule your appointments for the soonest we have available after March 31st.
