What is Latisse?

Our Philadelphia Latisse was developed by Allergan, a leading producer of aesthetic products. When applied to the lash line on the upper lid, the medication encourages the lashes to grow longer, thicker, and darker. It should not be applied to the lower lash line. If your lashes are sparse or short, this lash serum stimulates eyelash growth with a single daily application. You can expect results to begin to become visible within one to two months, with optimal results visible in four months.

If your lashes look sparse and thin, they can become thicker, darker, and lusher with physician-prescribed Latisse. Latisse is an FDA-approved medication that stimulates lash growth with a daily application to the upper lash line. You will no longer need eyelash extensions, false eyelashes, or even mascara to have lovely, thick lashes framing your eyes.

How does Latisse work?

Latisse was FDA-approved in 2008. It is a version of a glaucoma drug, bimatoprost. In patients using this medication, a noticeable side effect occurred: Longer, fuller eye lashes. Latisse was then developed as an eyelash enhancing medication. The lash-growing effect of Latisse is not fully understood but is believed to extend the natural growth phase of eyelash hair while increasing the number of lashes generated.

What can Latisse do for my lashes?

In clinical studies, Latisse produces remarkable results in eyelash growth and fullness:

  • Increased eyelash length 25 percent
  • The thickness and fullness of eyelashes increased by 106 percent
  • Eyelash darkness was increased by 18 percent

How do you use
Latisse?

Latisse is applied by dabbing the product along the upper lash line each night. It is applied with a sterile applicator, included with the product. The medication naturally spreads to the lower lashes as you blink.

After the application of Latisse, the applicator must be discarded. Once your eyelashes become longer, darker, and thicker, you may be advised to reduce applications to twice a week rather than daily. If you stop using Latisse, your lashes will eventually return to the condition they were in prior to using the product.

Is Latisse safe for your eyes?

Latisse is considered safe, and side effects are very rare. However, if you suffer from certain eye conditions or health issues, you may not be a candidate. Those with severe allergies or skin infection affecting the upper lids are not candidates. The side effects that occur in rare cases include dry eyes or darkened eyelid skin, eye redness, or itchiness, all of which occurred in very few participants in clinical studies prior to FDA-approval. If you'd like to find out if you're a candidate for Latisse Philadelphia plastic surgeon, Dr. Ran Stark, can see you during a consultation to discuss that and any other questions you may have. Latisse Results

Latisse doesn’t work overnight, but it does work, and the wait is worth it. Most people start seeing longer, fuller lashes around 4 weeks in, with full results showing up by the 16-week mark. Once your lashes have reached their peak, you’ll need to keep using Latisse to maintain your results. If you stop, your lashes will gradually return to their natural state over a few weeks or months. Just like your favorite skincare routine, consistency is key.
