Stark Plastic Surgery

Poor diet, smoking, and sun exposure can all contribute to dull, lifeless skin. Luckily, much of the damage caused by these lifestyle choices can be reversed with the correct skincare routine. To that end, Philadelphia area StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center offers our patients the highest quality skincare products available.

What skin care does Dr. Stark recommend?

Dr. Stark recommends skin care products with the same serious dedication and commitment with which he develops surgical treatment plans. During your comprehensive consultation, Dr. Stark and his Team at StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics Center will evaluate your skin’s current health and help you develop an effective and easy to follow skincare regimen.

Although your skincare routine will be fully customized, the basics will always include:

  • Sunscreen
  • Cleanser
  • Moisturizer
  • Retinol
  • Brighteners

To combat specific complaints, Dr. Stark may also recommend:

  • Antioxidants
  • Peptides
  • Growth factors

Dr. Stark’s recommended products and their formulations are based on medical evidence, peer-reviewed scholarship on ingredients, and the weight of his copious experience as a plastic surgeon in the Philadelphia area.

How long will it take to see results?

Most patients will begin to see marked improvement after three or four months of consistent use of the recommended products. Remember that you are reversing years of sun damage and the forces of aging. This will also take time.

You can feel confident in the knowledge that consistency and dedication to your skincare will pay off hefty dividends in a healthier, smoother, more glowing complexion.

What is the most essential skincare product?

More than any other product, daily use of a UVA/UVB sunscreen is imperative to the health of your skin. No matter the color or shade of your skin, proper use of an effective sunscreen will combat wrinkles, fine lines, sun and age spots, dullness and more.

The StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center carries several brands of sunscreen and will work with you to discover the best one for your needs. Every step of your skincare regimen is important, but never skimp on sunscreen.

Why should I get my skin care from a plastic surgeon?

Skincare can and should be fun, relaxing self-care. But it is best to put your trust in a plastic surgeon rather than an Instagram celebrity or beautician - at least when it comes to caring for your precious skin. The cost of appropriate skincare can be high. Dr. Stark is happy to work with you to discover the best possible solutions for your budget.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

We at StarkMD Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center hope this post finds all of our patients safe and healthy. Due to the current COVID-19 situation starting Monday, March 16th, we will limit appointments to those that are necessary only (lacerations or emergencies, post-operative patients needing follow up, etc.). We are still open--feel free to call for questions or to schedule future appointments. Although a difficult decision, we feel this is an important one for the good of our community, our patients and their families. If you are currently scheduled to come in to the office in the next 2 weeks, the office staff will be in touch with you regarding the status of your appointment. For new consultations scheduled in the coming weeks or those of you who wish to schedule in the near future, we are offering video consultations via Skype or FaceTime to get your process started until we see you pre-operatively. Otherwise, you may reschedule your appointments for the soonest we have available after March 31st.
